If I got part from my job, I don’t have any income. I have to have surgery on my leg because it’s messed up and I gotta be out 11 to 12 months. Can I file for SSI and Social Security at the same time because it’s gonna take me some time to get on Social Security disability, and I don’t have a husband I live by mysel I have a cancer and taking radiation pills for that. I have all over body pain and I’m on the pain management of that I have vertigo and I’m sick right now so I was wondering if I could get SSI before I go onto Social Security or should I file for both at the same time because I’m not gonna get any money right away and I live by myself

My daughter has Sickle Cell Disease and is usually in the hospital every other month for over 10 days per stay. I have been trying to get disability benefits for her since she was 5 years old and in 2012 it was determined that she has no life expectancy because of random aneurysms on her brain, one of which ruptured in 2012 and nearly killed her. It was determined then that it was a result of her Sickle Cell Disease and there was no real way to prevent future ones from occurring. However, I don’t understand why she still can’t get disability for her condition when it absolutely limits her daily functions and prevents her from being able to have a normal life, let alone be able to work.

I signed my settlement on May 17 2024 it’s July 11th and still haven’t recieved the check. Lawyer said would recieve in a few weeks and didn’t then it was 30days and didn’t then they promised that they would have the check by July first and didn’t now the day was before July 15th and today I called and now the date is on July 15th. Is there a way to look up a case that has been settled???

The only two things that matter and im being totally honest.. In the grand scheme of things its your age and your date last insured..aka the last time you worked and paid your taxes in which you are under a 5 year umbrella..after that parties over you lose no matter what youre conditions nor what you have paid in. The system that is in place in this country is absolutely criminal and immoral and it is nothing more than a trap to legally disqualify you for your benefits at the same time using age discrimination to the fullest of their ability

SSI for someone who can not work due to thier disabilities is invalidating and unassuring.

There are people like myself who can not get/hold a job due to social anxieties, PTSD, etc... This is not right.

What happens if we receive SSDI because we became disabled while legally resident in the US but had to leave due to disability invalidating a work visa. I’m receiving SSDI in the UK. I worked in the US (and was disabled there) for 6 years 7 months.

I want to thank Social Security Administration for giving me this money. I used it to put myself back into good health and to go to ITT Technical Institute for an Associate's and Bachelor's. I went on a scholarship for my B.S., too. Now I feel great, physically and mentally, with just a little bit of insomnia, not too serious.

Hi Bernard. I already got 40 credits because I worked for 20 years ( from 1986-2006). I stopped working in 2006 & haven't work ever since. Since I haven't worked for 18 years (2006-2024), if I want to go back to work, will the 10 year work requirement to get the 40 credits "restart" again? Your response will be greatly appreciated. Also I mistakenly entered my passport issue date, instead of my citizenship date (naturalized citizen). 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 Now since am outside the country am having difficulty in appealing to correct them.
